Why Should I Attend?
Participants will gain knowledge from national and local speakers on a variety of topics related to infants and toddlers who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) and their families, including:
- Mississippi requirements for screening, evaluation, and early intervention
- Best practices for evaluation and treatment
- Updates from the Joint Committee on Infant Hearing
- The emotional journey of families and professionals
- Benefits of early diagnosis and intervention
- Emerging issues and trends in Mississippi
Participants can also visit a virtual exhibit hall, engage with parents of children who are D/HH, meet EHDI Mississippi’s Family Advisors and D/HH Role Models, and network with other professionals!

Continuing Education
Mississippi Department of Education CEUs have been applied for and are pending approval. Attendance verification and a course evaluation will be required to receive CE credit. Additional information will be available after application is approved.
The Mississippi State Department of Health (DP: SWB120007) is approved as a provider for continuing education by the Mississippi Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists; Approval Period (2/24/21 – 2/26/21), continuing education clock hours (Cultural Competency___/Ethics_.05_/General_.125) have been applied for and are pending approval. Attendance verification and a course evaluation will be required to receive CE credit. CE certificates will be awarded after the event via e-mail.
Mississippi First Steps Early Intervention Program has approved EI Units (Coordination & Collaboration, Evidence Informed Intervention, Family Centered Practice, Professionalism). Attendance verification and a course evaluation will be required to receive EI Unit credits.
