Who Can Be Tested

Anyone can be tested for COVID-19 at an MSDH site if they have COVID-19 symptoms, or if they may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

There is no charge for testing.

Where to Be Tested: Free Testing Locations from MSDH

Weather closings: The Jones County, Perry County and Wayne County testing sites will be closed Tuesday, April 5.

• Weekdays in locations statewide: Many county health departments or special testing locations in a county offer free testing. Look for available locations near you when you schedule your test.
• Weekdays and Saturday in Jackson at the old West Street Farmers' Market at the corner of West Street and Woodrow Wilson Avenue (appointment recommended). Map and directions »
• Weekends at locations in selected counties. Look for available weekend locations when you schedule your test.

Please schedule a testing appointment ahead of time. You can also make an appointment at the testing site, but same-day openings may not be available.

After You Are Tested

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should isolate yourself while you wait for test results to prevent the possible spread of disease.

If you test positive, you should isolate at home. If your symptoms are severe, consider immediate treatment, and contact your doctor or other healthcare provider.

Printed test results from selected MSDH testing events

For some special COVID-19 testing events, testing is performed by the Mississippi Public Health Laboratory (MPHL). If you were tested at a Mississippi State Department of Health testing event and were told that your test sample would be processed by the MPHL, then you can get a printed copy of your test results, if needed, by following the instructions below.
